In this story, the events happen about 15 years from now. But, possibly we are on a fast track to having them play out much sooner than that. It is usually a marriage of bad ideologies ...joining the appearance of good with those who don't really know good ...thinking only of whether it is good for them, yet with no thought for the future or possible repercussions. Two such leaders stand on the world stage to discuss the problem before them:

"I thought it would be great for the American people to see. This is really disturbing. I can't believe areas allow themselves to regress, to isolate themselves from the technologies and modern medicines of the world. How they choose to live like this, I will never understand. It's been hundreds of years; you'd think no one would have to live like this. It reminds me of the movie, 'Ben-Hur'. That used to be one of my favorite movies."

"Wasn't that the guy who used to represent the National Rifle Association?"

"Yes, he first became popular by doing all those movies about Bible characters."

"That's right ---I remember him now. Ben-Hur was about that Jesus character, wasn't it?"                                                                       

"That's the one. It used to be a classic."

"So, that was one of your childhood favorites, huh? Did you used to believe in that Bible stuff?"

"Well, my dad used to pretend to believe in it. So I just sort of went through the motions with him."       

"Well, I'm ready to go through the motions of sleep. I'm going to request not to be disturbed. There will be plenty to take care of when we get back home. See you back in the States."                                       

"Don't forget to vote tomorrow."
